ConnectEase Application Explorer
The ConnectEase Application Explorer is a (FREE) Windows-compatible application that was
developed to provide a useful tool to personnel either owning or charged with providing support
for DataEase for DOS applications. The ConnectEase Application Explorer is especially useful
for support personnel and consultants who are unfamiliar with DataEase who may have recently
assumed responsibility for an existing DataEase application.
- Quickly Explore and Assess - Allows you to quickly explore the contents of an
application including presentation of Windows facsimiles of navigation menus,
record entry forms and reports/procedures.

- Test Drive Your Application in Windows – The Explorer allows you to ‘Test
Drive’ the DOS application as it would appear as a Windows application following
conversion by ConnectEase to a Windows platform. In other words, in Test Drive
mode you can log in as an application user and navigate through the menus and
other objects that the user is provided by the application just as if you would be
running it post-conversion. The Explorer does not present, modify or manipulate
data. It does present facsimiles of your application’s objects that are
representative of what our Application Migration Workbench produces
(depending on target.)

- Design Attributes Exposed - Presents the advanced design attributes and logic
underlying each object in an easy-to-use ‘tabbed notebook’ interface.
 - Find Out What It Will Cost To Migrate Your Application – The Applications
Explorer can prepare a detailed fixed-price quotation for converting your DOS
application(s) to another platform using the latest pricing factors downloaded into
the Explorer via the internet.

- View Converted Objects – Each menu, form and procedure is displayed as a
Windows form object, so you are able to preview what each object will look like
after we convert it. You are also permitted to preview selected post-conversion
elements that are generated by our Application Migration Workbench. For
example, you can view the SQL query used as each table’s record source in the
converted application (MS-Access).
